Welcome to the European Heritage Library. We are an academic group hosting articles, essays, videos, photo galleries, and maps submitted by our readers for scholarly review on the subjects of history, culture, language, religion, war, and politics. See our submission page to contribute. Our content gives special attention to European and immigrant minority identities struggling for political franchise in modern Europe, such as the Gypsy (Roma) communities, the Basques and Galicians of Spain, Muslim immigrant groups, Kosovar Albanians, and other regional identities. We also highlight the social, cultural, and religious effects of major transitions in European history, such as the crusades, the wars with the Ottoman empire, the Napoleonic Wars, and the World Wars. Most importantly, our contributors investigate how the evolution of history defines the way European cultures conceive of themselves and their identities today.
