EU Country Profiles, Immigration and Demographic Information

This page is intended as a quick reference for fun and interesting facts about the many diverse nations of Europe, including their age and state mottos. Note that the "approx. century established" field is easily debatable, so many different interpretations have been included if they exist. Most of the statistics information (population, birthrate, GDP) is from the CIA World Factbook.

Read this article on the European Heritage Library to learn about the many official and minority languages/identities in Europe.

Important Note: the Muslim population field is included simply because the Muslim immigrant minority issue is one of the more controversial conflicts in European societies today. The percentages are listed for this reason alone, rather than for any discriminatory or offensive reasons. View our exclusive map of Muslim immigrant populations in Europe for source information and more thorough analysis of Muslims in Europe.
