this Article About
the Author Bibliography/Sources
Below is a map the EHL has
published charting the major linguistic heritage of the European
continent. As with ethnic heritage and religion, language
heritage is a cultural keystone that defines the identity
and history of the nations of Europe. As in studying our other
ethno-cartographic maps, studying the below map will gain
a better understanding of European cultural heritage and the
impact they have upon the world. If you have any questions
about why certain countries and peoples practice a certain
language, feel free to notify us.
Mapping Information &
Extra Notes:
Note that naturally, the
colouring on this map refers to the national language heritage
of that region or country. Minority languages or dialects
are not discerned, though they are noted as regional dialects,
such as Sorbian in Poland.
