Mumar Qadafi, Libyan
Islamist dictator, says Europe will soon be Muslim-majority,
and calls Turkey in the EU a "trojan horse" for
al-Qa'ida
by James Mayfield (Chairman, European Heritage Library)
In this video, Libyan Islamist
dictator Mumar Qadafi discusses the controversial issue of
Islam and Muslim immigration in Europe. Here he speaks in
Tombouctou (Timbuktu), Mali, to an audience of Malinese Muslims
(a large constituent of immigrants in France), where he claims
that Europe will soon become Muslim-majority as a result of
Muslim immigration and the decline of overall religiosity
borne of liberalism and modern progressive culture. He predicts
that Turkey's potential admission to the European Union would
be a "trojan horse" for Muslims and al-Qa'ida into
Europe. With Turkey in the EU, it would instantly become the
second most populous nation in the confederacy, and thus a
major player in electoral and political issues shaping the
fate of Europe because of its size.
Mumar Qadafi overthrew the
first king of Libya, Idris, more than four decades ago, where
he created an overtly Islamic state (al-Jamahiriya) that has
been surprisingly stable and successful. Qadafi acknowledged
playing a part in the Muslims' bombing of the Lockerbie jet
over Scotland, which left over 200 people dead. Libya, despite
being fundamentally Islamic in terms of its legal corpus,
has been removed from the US list of terror-sponsoring states
recently.
